Jimmy was a dedicated family man who loved Crown Green Bowling. He played bowls for the Smithy Manor Bowling Club for many years until the green was closed and he transferred to Bold Bowling Club. His round pegs were second to none and he was a very successful bowler in all the leagues he bowled in. He was an excellent Captain in the Newton night league and guided his team to the A Division.
More recently, in 2019, Jimmy joined Rainhill Recreation Bowls section and played for the A Team. Sadly, his health started to deteriorate and he was not able to contribute as he would have wished but he would always be in attendance to support the Team. Jimmy’s wish was to leave a legacy to the Bowls section and his family have made a generous donation for which we are very grateful.
